Born in Kerala in 1918 to a Syrian Christian family, Anna is known as the “India Climate Lady”. She wanted to be a dancer from an early age, but joined physics for the sake of her family. They have made many valuable contributions to the fields of physics and meteorology. Her research enabled India to produce accurate weather forecasts and laid the foundation for the country’s use of renewable energy. They also worked with CV Raman, a physicist and professor, on a search for the optical properties of rubies and diamonds.

Anna received her BA in Physics and Chemistry from P Pachaiyappa College in 1939 and went to Imperial College London in 1945 for further studies. They have also published 5 research papers. She returned from London in 1948 and upon her return Anna joined the Indian Meteorological Department in Pune. There she was given the responsibility for organizing the weather equipment. Later he also served as Deputy Director General of the Indian Meteorological Department and held several key positions in the United Nations World Meteorological Organization.
Anna received the INSA Award in 1987 for her outstanding contribution to the field of meteorology. R. Ramanathan Medal. The country lost the Weather Lady of India in 2001.
